ABOUT ME

Aid4Autism – Helping Parents with Autistic Children Thrive

I am Mikilia Carroll, and I help parents navigate resources and services for their children on the autism spectrum. I am a single mother of three children, 23, 19, and 16, and a Glam-ma to an exuberant granddaughter Emmy. I started Aid4Autism because my second child Logan was diagnosed with severe autism and intellectual disabilities at 2 years old. Diagnosis can be hard to process, but this one cut me deep.

As a parent, I knew in my heart that he was not reaching the same milestones as his brother or other children his age. So, I decided to get him assessed. I felt that getting him assessed would benefit everyone, which would either tell me what was truly going on with my child and why he was delayed, or what I could do to help him succeed. Sitting back and waiting until it went away was going to benefit no one.

As I tell parents that I help, you are your child's biggest advocate, because they cannot advocate for themselves. Let me guide you through this world of Autism, avoiding the trials and tribulations I went through. Embracing your child’s uniqueness and joy for life, while giving them every opportunity to thrive and succeed in this world.
