Kid’s Creek, Inc. is the vision of two friends and Speech Therapists, Melanie McGriff and Joanna Conroy. Together with their husbands, the two families launched the company in November 2003.
The new clinic carefully recruited some of the most experienced and respected therapists in the Atlanta metro area, placing special emphasis on the people who demonstrated an innate ability to work effectively with small children. Growing steadily since 2003, Kid’s Creek has developed a reputation for responsiveness and professionalism among local pediatricians and families.
Both Melanie and Joanna are also mothers to small children, so there has always been a true understanding for the juggling act that parents of special needs children face day-to-day. The clinic tries to be as flexible and accommodating to parents as possible. Kid’s Creek, from the beginning, has been a Medicaid provider and makes every effort to work with families who may need financial assistance.
Today, Kid’s Creek is investing back into the community and is continually adding services like Hippotherapy, Aquatic Therapy, Interactive Metronome and other innovative approaches to rehab treatment. The clinic at John’s Creek now employs five speech therapists, three occupational therapists, and two physical therapists.
The Kid’s Creek “way” can be summed up in Three C’s:
- Community-Based – Convenient locations in the neighborhood
- Comprehensive – Team treating and employing special techniques with OTs, PT, and STs
- Caring – Retaining therapists and building relationships with families and their physicians
Mission
Kid's Creek is dedicated to providing children with the highest quality speech, physical, and occupational therapy services available. Our therapists apply the latest strategies and techniques with a caring and enthusiastic attitude, so that each session is stimulating and productive. We strive to continually improve our state-of-the-art clinics and to create a practice model that both parents and therapists love. We believe the clinic should be an educational resource to provide the community with direct access to the latest research and developments in pediatric rehabilitative services. We value honesty and creativity and we respect the clients, therapists, partners and community we serve.
