Listen to the song “Not Long Ago” based on the poem by Amy, a mom
In His own words: I was born into a world of music. Growing up with Grandparents that could sing and play the organ and piano, and a father that has a one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, I grew up loving to sing and play instruments. I learned how to play the organ, piano, and guitar all by ear, and eventhough I eventually learned how to sight read, I still rely heavily on my ear. I grew up playing in bands that mainly performed cover tunes, but eventually in Texas met up with some fantastic musicians that taught me the art of stage performance.
After performing The Ritz and SXSW, I focused my attention to writing and broke off into solo Acoustic work. In 1999 I was signed to an Indie label in Athens, GA, and released my first cd which did very well. I was able to tour the East coast, and met some amazing new artists like The Fountains, Michelle Cummings, Gary Kellam, and Howie Day. After the label went bancrupt in 2001, I m oved to Nashville, then to NY networking and working on the second cd "Then There's You" which was released three weeks ago.
Now full circle back in the Athens, area, I have been able to find some outstanding musicians that are helping me reach my goals. Myles Mattison, one of the most sought after MD's and drummers around, has toured with the likes of Kenny Loggins, Patti LaBelle, Jason Mraz, and many others. Myles has been nominated for 2 Dove Awards and is our drummer, percussionist, back up vocalist, and leader. Corey Batey, a talented pianist has toured and played with Myles for years. Corey's smooth playing and control of the keys, offers depth to our group. We interchange Bass players currently between a couple of guys that are equally as talented to round off the group. I feel very blessed to have such members that love the music, and are willing to stick out the trials to get where we are going. I thank all of you f or supporting such a noble cause and helping raise awareness for Autism. Thanks for yor support and I will see you on the road!
