Last fall our 2 yr old son Morgan was living in space, had no language, didn’t point, had no eye contact, and tested at a 7-mo level. A neurologist advised us he had autism but hoped with therapy he would overcome his odd behaviors. Given no recommendations we left feeling hopeless. After months of therapy with no improvement, I met with my caseworker who told me to call Tia Severino, of Aid 4 Autism who explained the Gluten/Casein free diet, gave me reference materials and helped me cope with Morgan’s condition. Aid 4 Autism got us in to see a specialist with a credit for his doctor visits, tests, and supplements. We were able to get hyperbaric therapy – all at no cost to our family. What a miracle: following Tia's suggestions Morgan is feeding and dressing himself, giving kisses and eye contact, pointing, and playing appropriately with toys. Aid 4 Autism put together a music festival May 2 to help more families. It was AMAZING! Two performers with autism played during dinner. Watching them gave us hope that our child can succeed. I can only imagine what Aid 4 Autism can do with the means to help more children.
